Health Science Technology

What can you do with this degree?
This program provides students with 3-4 certificates that provides students the requirements to work in the healthcare field. While in the program students will be able to complete pre-requisite courses in order to apply to one of MCTC’s many Health Science programs.

Emergency Medical Services

ParamedicsEmergency Medical Services includes both EMT and paramedic training. The EMT and paramedic programs meet the standards of the U.S. Department of Transportation National Standard Training and KCTCS-Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services (KBEMS).

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) provides pre-hospital emergency care to acutely ill or injured patients.

Paramedics provide pre-hospital emergency care to acutely ill or injured patients with an advanced level of knowledge and skill set.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

LPN to RN Online

The LPN to RN online method of delivery has been especially designed to meet the needs of the working LPN. The online delivery method allows the nurse to continue working and attend classes at a time that is convenient to him/her. Students will be required to come to the Maysville Campus Clinical/Lab.  The dates will be announced early to allow the nursing student ample time to plan their work schedule accordingly.

Medical Assisting

Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)

4 semesters to complete once admitted, 3 semesters of introductory and advanced courses (8-week and 16-week course formats) with the final semester approximately 600 hours in a clinical hospital laboratory setting.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

PTAs work in several settings including rehabilitation centers, outpatient clinics, nursing homes, athletic training facilities, schools, and hospitals.
