University of Kentucky Transfer Scholarships

  • Trustees Scholarship: Currently enrolled KCTCS students that will earn their Associate's in Arts or Associate's in Science Degree with a 3.50 cumulative GPA by the end of the spring 2014 term and then transfer to UK for the fall 2014 term are eligible to compete for a limited number of two-year renewable awards which cover the difference between UK in-state tuition and KCTCS in-state tuition. A final transcript must be submitted to the Office of Undergraduate Admission documenting spring 2014 grades and the awarding of an Associate's in Arts or Associate's in Science Degree by June 1st. Applicants must also submit a completed admissions application and all final college transcripts to the UK Office of Undergraduate Admission by June 2, 2014.  The postmark deadline to submit the Trustees Scholarship application and all supporting documents is June 2, 2014. Late or incomplete applications cannot be considered.
  • Kentucky Tradition Scholarship: Currently enrolled KCTCS students with 40 hours by the end of the spring 2014 semester (with at least 24 earned at KCTCS) and a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.30, who transfer to UK for the fall 2014 term will be offered a $6,000 scholarship, payable as $3,000 per year for up to two years, or $1,500 per semester for up to four semesters. A final transcript must be submitted to the Office of Undergraduate Admission documenting spring 2014 grades by July 15th. This award may be offered in addition to the Trustees Scholarship.
  • Wildcat Welcome Scholarship: All other transfer students with a minimum 3.30 cumulative GPA, that are currently enrolled at an accredited institution and will have 24 hours by the end of the spring 2014 term, who transfer to UK for the fall 2014 term will be offered a $1,500 one-year, non-renewable award, payable as $750 per semester for up to two semesters. A final transcript must be submitted to the Office of Undergraduate Admission documenting spring 2014 grades by July 15th.

Northern Kentucky University

KCTCS Scholars Award

Award: $2,500 annual ($1,250 per Fall and Spring)

Deadline: May 1 (for Fall semester)

  • This scholarship is only for students transferring from the Kentucky Community and Technical College System.
  • Students must meet all of the following requirements to be considered for the KCTCS Scholars Award:
    • Applicant for the KCTCS Scholars Award must be a legal resident of the state of Kentucky.
    • Must have completed at least 36 semester hours at an eligible KCTCS college (last attended must be KCTCS).
    • Eligible for regular admission to a Bachelor's degree program at NKU with no further remediation required.
    • Be academically eligible to return to prior institution and have earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
    • Remain in good standing at NKU as defined by the satisfactory progress guidelines used for financial aid eligibility.
    • Must have never enrolled as a degree seeking student at NKU prior to the next Fall semester.
    • Transfer to NKU in the Fall semester and enroll in at least 12 credit hours in both Fall and Spring semesters.
    • Student must not be seeking Post-Baccalaureate credit hours and/or a second Bachelor's degree.
    • Limited number of KCTCS Scholars Awards available. Preference may be given to students with the highest GPAs and total credit hours earned. Students must gain admission to NKU and submit the application by May 1.

Morehead State University

KCTCS Transfer Scholarship

Application Procedure

To be eligible for this scholarship you must submit a completed application packet, including admission application form and college transcripts by the May 31 priority application deadline.

Requirements

Be admitted to MSU for the 2014-15 academic year as a new transfer student from any institution in the KCTCS and meet all of the following requirements:

  1. Have completed at least 30 hours of college coursework; and
  2. Have a cumulative college GPA of 3.5 or higher

“New incoming freshmen” include students transferring that have completed fewer than 30 hours of college credit. “Transfer students” refer to those who have completed 30+ hours of college credit at another institution. College credit hours completed prior to high school graduation, including Early College Program courses, do not affect scholarship eligibility.

Additional Information

Recipients receive $4,000 ($2,000 per semester) for fall and spring semesters of enrollment. To receive the full value, recipients must be enrolled full-time (12 credit hours) with MSU. Recipients enrolled less than full-time with MSU will have the value of their scholarship adjusted based on their MSU credit hours. Students receiving outside scholarships, including KEES funds, and financial aid may not receive more aid than total cost of attendance.

Criteria for renewal: Maintain a minimum cumulative MSU GPA of 3.0, consecutive enrollment with MSU for fall and spring semesters, and satisfy the University's housing policy.

This scholarship may not be awarded in addition to another academic achievement scholarship.

EKU Scholarship

Colonel Plus
Recipients: Students transferring to EKU with 24 or more credit hours with a college GPA of 3.75 or higher.

Award: Three year award of $12,000. Scholarship of $2,000 per semester ($4,000 annually) for up to 6 semesters. In order to retain the scholarship, the student must maintain a 3.0 grade point average and be enrolled full-time.

Colonel
Recipients: Students transferring to EKU with 24 or more credit hours with a college GPA of 3.50 to 3.74.

Award: Three year award of $4,500. Scholarship of $750 per semester ($1,500 annually) for up to 6 semesters. In order to retain the scholarship, the student must maintain a 3.0 grade point average and be enrolled full-time.

Maroon Plus
Recipients: Students transferring to EKU with 24 or more credit hours with a college GPA of 3.25 to 3.49.

Award: Three year award of $3,000. Scholarship of $500 per semester ($1,000 annually) for up to 6 semesters. In order to retain the scholarship, the student must maintain a 3.0 grade point average and be enrolled full-time.

Maroon
Recipients: Students transferring to EKU with 24 or more credit hours with a college GPA of 3.0 to 3.249.

Award: Three year award of $1,500. Scholarship of $250 per semester ($500 annually) for up to 6 semesters. In order to retain the scholarship, the student must maintain a 3.0 grade point average and be enrolled full-time.
