Disc Golf

Disc golf is similar to regular golf; however, instead of using golf clubs and balls aiming for a hole, Disc Golf players use golf discs and aim for a Disc Pole Hole, a pole extending up from the ground with chains and a basket where the disc lands. The object of the game is to complete each hole in the fewest number of throws, starting from a tee area and finishing at the Disc Pole Hole.    Because disc golf is so easy to learn, no one is excluded.  If you can throw a Frisbee® and you like to have fun, you can play disc golf. This outdoor activity is for the young and old alike.  A great family activity or an ideal way to spend time with your friends.  Players merely match their pace to their capabilities, and proceed from there. The outdoor course, on the Maysville Campus, opened late last year.  With warm weather right around the corner we are eager to see the course utilized and will offer a two hour beginners course on April 24 from 6-8 p.m. Your instructor, Ben Jones, is an avid disc golf player who has played a variety of courses over the last 5 years.  Ben is eager to share his knowledge of the game.  You’ll need to bring your own disc.  For more information or to register phone 759-7141, ext. 66120.  Pre-registration is required.
